The Advanced Externship is considered advanced training as participants must have completed the 4-day externship to attend. It is led by a Certified EFT Trainer or a Certified EFT Supervisor. It is a 2-day event that is limited to 12 participants.
Emotionally Focused Family Therapy: Creating Secure Bonds for Parents and Children
Emotionally Focused Family Therapy helps families create a secure base for children to grow and leave from through increasing emotional accessibility and responsiveness between family members. In this workshop, the key concepts of EFFT from an attachment perspective will be highlighted along with a description of the essential differences between EFT and EFFT. The therapeutic map will be elucidated including decisions on how to plan the course of treatment and how, within session, to shape the key moments of change. A live session will be held to demonstrate the reprocessing and shaping of positive interaction within a family unit.
Objectives for Workshop
Participants will demonstrate an increased knowledge of the Emotionally Focused Family Therapy Model.
Participants will demonstrate an ability to conceptualize family distress and symptomology through the EFFT lens.
Participants will begin to develop the ability to facilitate the EFFT Assessment process.
Participants will begin to develop the ability to shape and create, corrective systemic moments in order to help family systems begin to repair relationships and collaboratively develop new interaction patterns.
Participants will reflect on their personal reaction to family systems work.
